The IT Business Partner & Solutions Architect – Sales & Marketing is the strategic liaison between IT and the business, analyzing business stakeholder needs and opportunities, and translating them into business and technical requirements. This position must understand business strategies and goals and develop necessary designs and plans to implement required business solutions. Proactively understands business pain points and opportunities and proposes business process optimization and technology solutions to address (people, process and technology). Ensures that IT is focused on the highest priority technology initiatives to advance the business strategy and critical business goals.

This individual must intimately understand the business strategy, business model(s), business processes, how the business unit makes money, external customer experiences, and more. The IT Business Partner proactively proposes “What If” business scenarios, painting pictures of improved future states and the art of the possible. Partners with business leadership in writing business cases for technology investments and ensuring that the anticipated business value is realized post go-live. Collaborates with other IT staff to ensure interoperability aimed at enabling end-to-end “hire” to “retire” processes.


Key Responsibilities


  • Overall responsibility for serving as the strategic interface between sales and marketing and IT leadership for the purpose of technology strategy execution, business solution discovery and deployment, relationship management, risk management and service management.
  • Leverage knowledge of the business, industry, and leading-edge technological solutions to transform the way the business operates and provides services to its customers.
  • Understand the future state strategic needs/goals and current state capabilities across the company and determine how to close the gaps adopting a people, process and technology approach.
  • Serve as the trusted advisor and internal business consultant to business stakeholders in determining business solutions required to achieve business goals and objectives. Lead initiatives that result in new and better ways of doing business.
  • Recommend strategies to optimize/standardize/automate business processes to enable improved business/operational execution, an improved external customer experience, and increased end user productivity in the achievement of business goals.
  • Acts as a relationship manager, build strong collaborative relationships with business stakeholders and IT service owners.
  • Design/propose a modernized, simplified and integrated application and information architecture for Exactech in collaboration with the Director of Enterprise Solutions & Innovation and the CIO.
  • Lead process improvement workshops, document current and future state processes and procedures, and ensure staff are fully informed/trained on business process and technology.
  • Collaborate closely with Business Process Owners (BPOs), Super Users (SUs) and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in defining and documenting business processes, user stories/use cases, and business requirements – all required for inputs to plan IT initiatives.
  • Translate business requirements/user stories into functional specifications and technical specifications
  • Collaborate and coordinate with the IT staff and 3rd party technology providers to resolve issues with the CRM, DXP, MA, DGF, CIMplicity, DAM, Web Applications, and other related software applications.
  • Research and evaluate industry trends, best practices, new technologies, and improvements or new releases to our current installed base.
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders and the Director of Enterprise Solutions & Innovation to plan and implement solutions.
  • Lead technology implementations (IT Projects) and enhancements and roll-up sleeves as needed, including providing estimates of the project effort, cost and resource needs.
  • Drive the planning, design, development, and deployment of new applications, and enhancements to existing applications. (SDLC)
  • Regularly report project status to Business Stakeholders and IT Management.
  • Create systems models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to system programmers and developers.
  • Lead and perform testing (unit, system, integration and UAT) and software validation activities for new system implementations and existing system enhancements, including creating test strategy/plan.
  • Collaborate with entire IT staff to develop and deploy technology solutions.
  • Develop and maintain training materials, user guides to assist end users in efficiently and effectively using implemented technology to perform their expected responsibilities.
  • Analyze and write custom reporting using various report writing tools.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and end users to design and deploy process optimizations and information technology solutions.
  • Works with the business units, sales, marketing and others to plan and make sure they understand the relevance and impact of IT changes to their operations.
  • Help stakeholders develop proposals and advance them through the project intake and assessment process.
  • Understand how services and capabilities currently offered by IT can be put to best use and create value for the business.
  • 26. Work collaboratively with business stakeholders to define and prioritize technology initiatives (new or enhanced services) that will bring the most business benefit.
  • 27. Liaise with vendors and service providers to select the products or services that best meet company goals in collaboration with the IT and Business Leadership.
  • 28. Assist and support other employees, teams, and sales personnel as necessary.

Skills Knowledge and Expertise


Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field from an accredited institution required; Master’s Degree preferred
Experience:
  • Minimum of 7 years’ work experience in sales & marketing solutioning and business analysis for a global manufacturing/engineering company.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ work experience in hands-on technical leadership, project management, process development/improvement and resource management.
  • 5+ years of experience with data management and business intelligence applications.
  • Previous experience in a business role focused on sales or marketing is required.
  • Proven experience in implementing on premise and cloud based DXP technology, at least one full lifecycle implementation.
  • 2+ years’ in the Medical Device Industry is highly desired.
Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  • Experience facilitating change management involving business processes and organizational change.
  • Experience with system design and development starting from requirements analysis through implementation and support.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of strategic use of technology to optimize business objectives. • Superior analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven project management and change management experience.
  • Solid experience with SDLC and agile methodologies. • Proven experience facilitating identification of creative solutions.
  • Possess significant business knowledge & acumen; speak in business-friendly terms.

  • Proven experience in innovative solution design and practical implementation.

  • Thorough understanding of information technology and its application to business issues.
  • Solid knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.
  • Proven experience in the operation and analysis of database hardware, software, and standards, as well as data retrieval methodologies and client-server applications. • Ability to create training material and deliver training.
  • Highly adaptable and flexible; able to adjust quickly to new situations and changing priorities.
  • Able to offer creative, innovative, and strategic solutions to business challenges.
  • Facilitate and influence end to end engagement to achieve desired business outcomes.
